What do teams make during this experience?
Teams choose to create joey pouches, possum dreys, or habitat boxes. These are essential resources used directly by WIRES wildlife carers to shelter, warm, and protect injured, orphaned, and displaced animals during rehabilitation and after release.
Who receives the resources teams create?
Everything made goes directly to WIRES, Australia's largest wildlife rescue organisation. WIRES operates a 24/7 rescue service and supports a national network of trained wildlife carers who use these resources in the field.
Do participants need any prior skills or experience?
No. The experience is designed for all skill levels. Teams work together with guidance provided throughout the session.
What do we need to provide?
You will need a projector and screen, tables for participants, and a microphone for groups of 30 or more.
What will our team learn during the session?
Alongside the build, participants learn about the threats facing Australia's native wildlife, including habitat loss, urban expansion, and natural disasters, and the critical role wildlife rescue and rehabilitation plays in protecting native species.
Is this experience suitable for a conference or large corporate event?
Yes. The format scales well for large groups and integrates easily into team days, conferences, and offsite events.
