SolarBuddy Hour of Power

One hour. One light. A brighter future for a child.

The Experience

The SolarBuddy Hour of Power is a purpose-driven charity experience where participants assemble solar lights that are donated to children living in energy poverty. Around the world, millions of children live without safe or reliable electricity. After dark, many rely on kerosene lamps, candles, or other light sources that create health risks, safety hazards, and barriers to education.

During the SolarBuddy Hour of Power, your delegates will work together to assemble solar lights designed to last more than 10 years. Each participant also writes a personal message to the child who will receive their light, creating a meaningful human connection alongside the practical support.

This experience can be delivered in person (indoors) or virtually via your preferred video conferencing platform.

A single solar light can transform a child’s routine by providing safe, reliable lighting for study and daily life. By participating in the SolarBuddy Hour of Power, teams contribute directly to improving educational outcomes and creating safer living conditions for children living in energy poverty.
