Dyno Nobel teams packing care boxes and school backpacks in Perth and Brisbane

Dyno Nobel ran corporate volunteering in Perth and Brisbane in October. The Brisbane team packed 15 school backpacks. The Perth team packed 20 homelessness care boxes. The feedback was so strong that they booked a second session.

The Brief

Dyno Nobel’s team usually has a quarterly team update, followed by a team building session. This time, they wanted something more meaningful.

The goal was simple: bring 35 people together across Brisbane and Perth, and make a real difference in their local communities.

The Solution: Corporate Volunteering Perth and Brisbane

CVA brought a different experience to each city, so each team worked on a cause that mattered locally. In both sessions, facilitators shared the real numbers behind the cause, so the team could see exactly who they were helping.

Backpacks for School Kids, Brisbane

In 90 minutes, the Brisbane team packed 15 backpacks with school essentials through our Backpacks for School Kids experience. Each backpack came with a handwritten letter to the student who will receive it. The backpacks went to local public school students.

Homelessness Care Box Creation, Perth

In one hour, the Perth team packed 20 care boxes with our Homelessness Care Box Creation experience. Each box was filled with essential items and finished with a personal note of encouragement. The boxes were donated to RUAH Community Services, a Perth charity supporting people experiencing homelessness.

The Impact

  • 35 employees across 2 cities
  • 20 homelessness care boxes donated in Perth
  • 15 school backpacks donated in Brisbane
  • A second session booked after the first

What Dyno Nobel Said About Their Corporate Volunteering Day

We had a wonderful time at our first volunteering session. And the feedback has been overwhelming! So much so that we booked and completed another session!

Everyone is already asking when our next event will be.

We have now completed two events. For Backpacks for School Kids, Jordan was fantastic, energetic, fun and knowledgeable. The letter writing to the students was a very memorable touch.

For the Homelessness Care Boxes, Madi was absolutely amazing. She was warm, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable, and even generously facilitated the session on her birthday! Of course, we made sure to sing to her and sufficiently embarrass her to mark the occasion.

While some of the statistics shared from both events were confronting, the way the sessions brought everything to life made a real impact. Seeing where the boxes and backpacks go, who they support and the contribution they make really helped the team connect with the purpose behind each activity. Writing the personal notes was particularly meaningful, especially knowing that those messages can make a difference.

Thank you to Corey, Sophie, Jordan and Madi from Corporate Volunteering Australia. The whole process was seamless from start to finish and was definitely worthwhile for all those that attended in our business. Fantastic service and contribution to the community.
